We’re literally surrounded by some of the world’s best trout fishing.

The Fishing

When it comes to wild trout fishing, we’re in the heart of some of the world’s best. Fabled rivers, small streams, private-access creeks, and spring-fed ponds, we are fortunate to have them all within easy striking distance. Combine that with a staff of full-time guides who have explored and learned these fisheries over thousands of days on the water, and you get a fly fishing experience that is second to none. Whatever your skill level, and however you define success, we’ll strive to ensure you experience that perfect day. And with so many miles and different stretches to choose from, each of these world-class rivers can deliver a completely different experience.

The Ruby River

We have over 10 miles of private access to the Ruby River and its tributaries, from right outside our front door to upstream at our Canyon property. Great hatches, feisty browns, and great wading makes the Ruby a perennial favorite.

The Big Hole River

If you dreamed up a trout river, it would probably look like the Big Hole. Towering cliffs, quiet meadow stretches, wildlife, salmonflies and caddis, four species of trout and the rare Arctic grayling — the Big Hole has it all and then some.

The Beaverhead River

A relatively small tailwater, the deep and fast Beaverhead is thought by most to be the best trophy trout river in the region. Small nymphs always work well on this river, even for the biggest fish, but its great hatches are not to be missed too.

The Madison River

The “50-mile riffle” river, the Madison delivers a great experience, with amazing hatches like salmonflies and hoppers, not to mention consistent nymph and streamer fishing as well. Just an hour from the lodge, and flowing through the jaw-dropping Madison Valley, it’s one of our most popular rivers.

The Jefferson River

During the spring and fall, this unheralded river can produce some wonderful fishing, not to mention solitude, wildlife, and beauty. The Jefferson’s long pools and undercut banks are home to big browns and rainbows, and the chance of floating among grazing moose and playful otters is an added bonus.

Private Water

Depending on the time of year and water conditions, we have access to a limited number of exclusive waters, such as Clear Creek that flows through part of the lodge property. There are also two spring-fed ponds on premises for casting practice or instruction.
